Kevin D. Nelson, 53, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at his home in Flandreau. Kevin was born on October 23, 1956 in Pipestone, MN to Mickey and Bette (Johnson) Nelson. He attended school in Flandreau. Kevin started working construction and doing cement work. Kevin married Teresa Rice on September 10, 1976 in Flandreau. Kevin worked at Bayliner Boats in Pipestone. He started working in 1989 at Royal River Casino as a blackjack dealer. Kevin retired in March of 2005.

Kevin is survived by 6 children, Jamie (Chrysanthemum) Nelson, Las Vegas, NV, Jennifer Nelson, Flandreau, Billy (Amber) Nelson, Brookings, Tracy Nelson, Brookings, Darci Nelson, Brookings, Mark Nelson, Flandreau; 8 grandchildren, Michael, Marisa, Tristan, Seth, Mazzy, Payden, Tiana, Mya; mother, Betty (Walter) Bach, Flandreau, father, Mickey (Donna) Nelson, Grand Junction, CO; 3 brothers, Gary (Susan) Nelson, Grand Marias, MN, Jeff Nelson, Pipestone, Greg Nelson, Flandreau; a sister, Toni Taylor, Colman and a half-sister, Shelley Nelson, Grand Junction, CO. He is preceded in death by his brother, Steve and a sister, Robin.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial at Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 2 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7 PM prayer service.
