Kenneth R. Rusk, 72, died Monday at Avera McKennan, Sioux Falls. Kenny was born April 21, 1938 at Flandreau, SD to Vernon and Mary (Roberts) Rusk. He was educated in Moody County country schools. Kenny was a National Guard member of the Battery B 147th Artillery in Flandreau which was called up to active duty on October 1, 1961 during the Berlin Crisis. After his discharge on August 11, 1962, he returned to Flandreau and was married to Genette Friman on October 22, 1966 in Sioux Falls. Kenny worked for the Moody County Highway Department from 1965 until his retirement in 2001. He liked to fish, hunt and play cards.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Genette; a daughter, Sally Rusk and a grandson, Jordan Rusk, all of Flandreau. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday at the Flandreau Community Center with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4:00 pm Thursday with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
