Kathryn R. (Ernesti) Becker, 61, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Golden Living Center Covington Heights, Sioux Falls. Kathryn was born September 13, 1950 to James and Pauline (Barnes) Ernesti at Sioux Falls. She grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Sioux Falls Washington in 1968. Following high school Kathryn joined the US Navy. She married Curtis Blinsman at Fresno, CA and to this union Terri Lynn Blinsman was born. Kathryn married Byron Becker in Spearfish, SD and Sarah Kathryn (Becker) Gengler was born. Byron preceded her in death. Kathryn enjoyed writing, poetry, drawing, family, puzzles and being outdoors.

Kathryn is survived by her mother, Pauline Lambert, Sioux Falls; her 2 children, Terri Blinsman and Sarah Gengler; 11 siblings, Donna (Dennis) Rolfson, Dennis Ernesti, James V. Ernesti, Joan (Jeff) Dow, Deborah (Jon) Heisel, Thomas Ernesti all of Sioux Falls, Pamela (Daniel) Rustvang, Grand Forks, ND, Mary (Michael) Schave, Gillette, WY, Theresa (Kent) Headrick, Flandreau, Daniel (Teresa) Ernesti, Dell Rapids, Lauri (Thomas) Starr, George, IA; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Byron; father; step-father, Bill Lambert; 2 nieces, Michelle Schave and Angela Rustvang and 1 nephew, David Ernesti.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
