Justina Hofer, age 92, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at her home at Pleasant Valley Colony, Flandreau. Justina was born on January 2, 1920 at Pigeon Lake, Manitoba, CA to Paul and Sarah (Gross) Tschetter. She married David Hofer on November 19, 1941 at New Elm Spring Colony at Ethan, SD. They moved to Pleasant Valley Colony near Flandreau in 1977. Justina was a day cre provider for 17 years. David preceded her in death on June 30, 2005.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Dorothy (Amos) Long Lake Colony, Sarah ( Elmer) Big Stone Colony, David Jr., Sioux City, Alma (Rev. Sam) Rolland Colony, Marian (Jake) Washington, Paul (Adina) Pleasant Valley Colony, Clara (Jonathan) Washington, Hannah (Thomas) Big Stone Colony, Susan (Tim) Washington, Chris (Hilda) Pleasant Valley Colony, Katie ( Ernie) Washington, Levi, Rock Rapids, Lydia Rock Rapids, Elizabeth (Henry) Washington; 70 grandchildren, 155 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Justina was preceded in death by her husband, parents her brothers, Paul, David, Chris, Levi, Daniel, Timothy, Sisters; Dora and Abigail, son, Levi;granddaughter, Tammy and son-in-law, Jake.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Colony, Flandreau with burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Colony.
