Joyce A. Jurgens, 84, of Flandreau, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Avera Flandreau Hospital. Joyce was born October 18, 1932 at Flandreau to Christian and Victoria (Henderson) Grafing. Joyce received her education in Flandreau and was united in marriage to Elmer Jurgens on June 27, 1949 at Pipestone, MN. Joyce worked in the kitchen at Flandreau Public Schools and they owned Jurgens Package Store from 1964 until 1980. Elmer preceded Joyce in death on November 13, 1988. Joyce was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed working cross word puzzles (the hard ones).

Joyce is survived by 2 children, Elmer "Sonny"(Judy) Jr., Chaska, MN, Vicky (Bob) Ehret, Pine City, MN; 4 grandchildren, Kellie, Tracey, Jason, Troy; 4 great-grandchildren; Emily, Ella, Aidan, Gavin; and two brothers, Dugan and Dick Grafing both of Flandreau. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, 8 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, June 23, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Flandreau, with burial in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Elkton, SD.
