Joseph J. Walleen, Jr, 54, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his home in Flandreau. He was born April 30, 1960 in Alabama to Joseph, Sr. and Helen (Hellwig) Walleen. Joe and his family moved to North Dakota where he attended school. He worked at the family gas station and bar in Pick City, ND. Joe also had a fishing guide service, which he was very proud of, on Lake Sakakawea. He enjoyed taking people from all over the country fishing. Joe married Carol Mehlhoff on October 27, 1993. They later moved to Flandreau, SD where they resided for several years. Joe loved fishing, anything outdoors and especially hunting with his nephews, Michael John and Casey. He also loved music, singing, karaoke and was always there for his family.

Joe is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Melissa (Mike) Ellingworth, all of Flandreau, daughter Wanda Miner and son Troy (Leah) Miner, all of Sioux Falls, two granddaughters, Addie and Luella, one sister Ellen, one brother Lee, several nieces and nephews and his dogs, Maggie and Daisy. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mike.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Skroch Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service.
