John J. Pray, age 50, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls. John was born December 2, 1961 in New York to Rev. Bruce S. & Rose (Bairos) Pray, Sr. He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1980. Following high school John attended USD and then aeronautics school in Wyoming. He then moved to Sioux Falls and began his lifelong career of being a carpenter. John loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, building things, classic rock music and loved his dog Lucky. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father and grandfather. He was a member of the Carpenters Union in Sioux Falls.

John is survived by 4 children, Joseph Pray, Sioux Falls, Brittany (Thien) Ho, Flandreau, Benjamin Pray, Sioux Falls, Sara Pray, Sioux Falls; 2 grandchildren, Isabelle and Koa Ho and one on the way; his mother, Rose Pray, Flandreau; fiancée, Stacey Keith; 5 brothers, Steven Pray, Stevens Point, WI, Ronald Pray, Deadwood, SD, Bruce Pray, Jr., Lincoln, NE, Douglas Pray, Flandreau, Jerry Pray, Seattle, WA; 3 sisters, Karen (Chuck) Hasvold, Hartford, SD, Shirley (Bruce) Jensen, Flandreau, Elsie Pray, Seattle, WA and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Bruce S. Pray, Sr.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau with burial at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM Wednesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
