John E. Krogmann, 73, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. He was born on December 23, 1940 in Elkton, SD to Louie and Elsie (Meier) Krogmann. He grew up and attended school in Elkton. After school he joined the Army, where he was stationed in Fort Hood, TX from 1960 to 1963. After being discharged, he moved to West Fargo, ND to work at the stockyards where he met Bonnie Holzworth. John and Bonnie married on November 16, 1963 in West Fargo. They welcomed a daughter, Susie, in 1964 in Minnesota.  In 1966, they moved to Otsego, MI, where they had a son, Russ, in 1968. John worked for the City of Otsego until his retirement in 1990. After retirement they moved to Lake Campbell where they lived for 24 years. John spent part of his summers working for Prunty Construction over the next 8 years. He enjoyed beer, sports, fishing, camping at Muskrat Lake, bowling, playing softball, his grandchildren, and traveling with his "wife." John and Bonnie recently celebrated their 50 ^th Anniversary.

John is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter, Susie Van Eck, Volga, son, Russ Krogmann, Lake Campbell, 5 grandchildren, four sisters, Marian Krogmann, Fruita, UT, Doris Evink, SD, Marie Krogmann, Otsego, MI, Deloris Krogmann, Otsego, MI, 2 brothers, David Krogmann, Littleton, CO, Vernon Krogmann, Ivanhoe, MN. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Louie, and two sisters, Elsie and Lillie.

Visitation is from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 2, 2014 at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
