Jody Lynn Anderson, 60, of Elkton, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 28, 2023 at United Parish of Elkton in Elkton, SD. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Elkton, SD with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM.

Jody Lynn Anderson was born October 8, 1962 in Tyler, MN to Willis and JoAnn (Nielsen) Kruse. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church and grew up on the farm by Ruthton, MN. She was a 1981 graduate from Ruthton High School where she participated in cheerleading. She married Dale Anderson on June 27, 1981, they were united in marriage at Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton, MN and would then reside in Elkton, SD. They welcomed their son, Cody Oran Anderson on April 28, 1989.

Jody worked in Flandreau, SD at the Nursing Home, then Eaton Dakota for a time, and then 3M in Brookings, SD where she retired in 2018.

Jody absolutely loved her family and friends and wasn't afraid to show it. She enjoyed reading, movies, haunted destinations, trips with the Yayas, and spending time with family and her favorite of all being with her Macky. Jody's absolute favorite holiday was Christmas, doing what she loved which was giving.

Jody and Dale just recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. They loved picking on each other and always told Dale if something happens to her, she wanted to be buried in her pajamas and left barefoot.

Jody loved her son Cody with all her heart and always had one rule; he owed her a hug once a month and never let him forget about it. She was always a phone call away and loved spending time with him every chance she got.

The joy of her life was the birth of her grandson Mack. Jody had waited so long to meet him and when she found out she was going to be grandma we couldn't talk to her the rest of the night from all her tears of happiness. The short amount of time they had together were truly precious memories for both of them. His daily ranger rides with grandma going from park to park every single day and to their daily stop at Skyveiw, the endless sleepovers, singing to each other, and FaceTime's when they weren't near each other. They were inseparable and had a bond nobody could break.

She will be truly missed by many. But the memories she has given us throughout the years will be forever in our hearts. We love you, Jody!
