Joan E. Rovig, age 60, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully on May 6, 2020. Joan was born in Flandreau, SD on October 5, 1959 to Laurie and Delores (Bowen) Johnson. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1977. She attended Lake Area Technical and then moved to the west coast settling in California. From there she moved to Phoenix and married Jason Rovig in April of 2002. They spent 18 years of marriage and 21 years together enjoying each other's company and all of their wonderful families.  They were able to travel the world together, but liked most to just hang out and relax at home.  The next place they meet will be the most special of all.

Joan is survived by her husband: Jason; her mother: Delores Johnson; one brother: David; four sisters: Barb, Vicky, Gayle and Kristen and many wonderful nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Laurie and her brother, Troy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Ss. Simon and Jude and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation without the family present will be Friday, June 26, 2020 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
