Jesse L. Nissen, 68, of Flandreau, SD passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022. Jesse L. Nissen was born April 2, 1954, in Pipestone, MN to Vernon and Joan (Lang) Nissen. He attended school in Elkton and Flandreau and then joined the National Guard in Flandreau. During the years 1972 – 1978 he earned an achievement for outstanding performance in Nuclear Weapons. When Jesse wasn't out on the road trucking, he enjoyed being in the town of Flandreau, having coffee, shooting the breeze with his friends. Jesse was a great man and an even better father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.

Jesse is survived by his daughter Amanda Champion/Nissen (38) and his grandson Deven Champion (18). He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Joan Nissen, as well as his baby brother.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 30, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau, with a 7:00 pm prayer service.
