Jean L. Pedersen, 92, of Sioux Falls passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Jean LaVerle Pedersen was born November 8, 1928 in Moody County, SD to Onnie and Mildred (Luschen) Croon. She grew up and attended Klug Country School graduating from Colman High School in 1947. Jean then worked in Flandreau for the Moody County Superintendent of Schools, at the Crystal Theater and also Olson Drug as a soda clerk. On December 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Richard Pedersen at the Lutheran Church in Chester, SD. The couple lived on a farm near Egan, SD moving to Sioux Falls in 1954. Jean worked for International Harvester, Carrier Transport and Shriver's before retiring in 1998. Richard preceded her in death on July 31, 2018. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and Sioux Falls VFW Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared her life are two nephews, Gary (Linda), Lonnie, five nieces, Ardis, Judy, Carolyn (Bob), Joyce (Jim), Chellie (Randy), special aunt, Beverly Bradfield and sister-in-law Rosie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents, and three brothers, Darrel, Kenneth and Lyle and a niece Lori McAthie. Memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 10, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau, SD. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am Thursday preceding the service at the church.
