Jean A. McClemans, 62 of Elkton died Sunday at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Jean Ann McClemans was born March 11, 1946 to Samuel R. and Gladys E. (Cross) McClemans in Hendricks, MN. She attended St. Mary's Grade School for 8 years and graduated from Elkton High School in 1964. Jean worked at SDSU from 1972 until 1987 and at 3M from 1993 until the time of her death in Brookings. She also worked at the Cafe and Drive Inn in Elkton. Jean enjoyed life, her family and friends, and traveling with her special friend, Darrell. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Elkton.


Jean is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Mark) Hendricks of Brookings; one granddaughter, Ashley Hendricks; special friend, Darrell Hammer of Elkton; sister-in-law, Lois McClemans of Brookings; brother-in-law, John Henningsen of Elkton and several nieces and nephews. Jean is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Jack, Charles and Mark; 2 sisters, Helen and Marie and 2 nephews, Chuck Kuehl and Emmett Kuehl.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Elkton with burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm on Tuesday with a 7:00 pm scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
