Jan G. Gullickson, 76, of Flandreau, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her home. Jan was born January 11, 1939 at Flandreau, SD to Lawrence Gaylord and Elna G. (Longstreet) Price. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1957 and attended Huron College for two years receiving a business administration degree. Jan married Gene Gullickson on August 16, 1959 at Flandreau. They were high school sweethearts and Homecoming King and Queen. Jan worked at Sioux Valley Electric, was a farm wife, and was secretary at Second Presbyterian Church from 1986 – 1999. Then she worked at Brookings Utilities until retiring in 2010. Jan was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, PW, church elder, Sioux River Sue's Extension Club, Flandreau Alumni Band, and Flandreau Community Band. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, attending their sporting events, cooking, crocheting, music, being a hostess and having family to their home.

Jan is survived by her husband Gene, four children, Sherri Szczepaniak, Woodridge, IL, Sandy (Mike) Sorenson, Andover, MN, Rick (Patty), Aurora, SD, Shelly (Todd) Price, Hartford, SD, nine grandchildren, Mitch (Laura), Dustin (Brittney), Cameron, Amanda, Rhianna, Alek, Kinsey, Trevin, Teagan, and one great-granddaughter Kennedy. Jan was preceded in death by their son Ryan, son-in-law, Mike Szczepaniak, her parents, and two brothers, Tom and Bob.


A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau, followed by a luncheon at the William J. Janklow Community Center.
