James (Jim) T. Nace, 71, of Colman, South Dakota, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 27, 2026.

Burial will take place at Colman City Cemetery on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 3:30 PM, with visitation immediately following at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Colman, South Dakota, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Jim was born to Gerald (Bud) D. Nace and Beverly N. Nace on March 16, 1955.

Jim attended and graduated from Colman High School in 1973. From there, he went to work for T&R Electric in Colman. He then moved to Minnesota for work. In 1976, he joined his wife’s family business, maintaining the properties they owned. Jim married Teresa (Teri) Murray in 1977. In 1993, the couple opened Suds and Suds and owned it for the following 16 years.

Survivors include his wife, Teri; their two sons, Chad J. Nace (Krystal) of Lake Poinsett and Daniel A. Nace of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, Marcus D. (Alexandria) Nace of Sioux Falls, Aiden J. Nace of Sioux Falls, Autumn R., Jade M., and Willow J. Nace of Lake Poinsett; sisters Linda Baker of Sioux Falls and Andrea (Marc) VanVooren of Colman, SD; along with his many nieces and nephews, Austin, Kaitlynn, Stephanie, Bob, JB, Ellison, Scott, Jason, Corrissa, Becky, Jeff, and Katie.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy Van Rosendale and Jill Handel.
