James R. Lang, 80, of Flandreau, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Flandreau. Jim was born November 20, 1935 at Herreid, SD to Christ and Louise (Moore) Lang. He attended school in Herreid. Jim served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4th Class during the Korean War from 1953 until his discharge in 1956. He moved to the Twin Cities and worked at various jobs. Jim married Karen Rosheim on April 15, 1968 in St. Paul, MN. They moved to Esko, MN and purchased a meat market & grocery store. Jim retired in 1998. For the next 8 years he drove Karen to and from work. In 2006 they moved to Flandreau, SD. In Jim's younger years, he liked to water ski and work. He also liked to walk and do the jumbo words and Sudoku puzzles.

Jim is survived by his wife Karen, son Kelly of Denver, CO, daughter Naomi of Steamboat Springs, CO, one granddaughter Kylie of Denver, one brother Larry of Herreid, SD, one sister Ilene (Ray) Undis of West St. Paul, MN, one sister-in-law Maryll Rosheim, Flandreau, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Gerald.

In keeping with Jim's wishes, a graveside family service will be held at a later date.
