James C. Henderson, 76, of Flandreau died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at his daughter's home in Colman, SD. James was born June 6, 1933 in Ward Township in Moody County, SD to John and Reva (Duncan) Henderson. He attended school until the 8th grade at the Ward Township Country School and then work on the family farm. Jim entered the Air Force on November 17, 1953 and served as a jet mechanic. On November 11, 1959 he married Eva Jo Ahern in Brookings, SD. Jim worked various jobs and retired unwillingly in 2005 from Loiseau Construction due to health reasons. Jim loved fishing, his pontoon boat, camping, tinkering with various projects and driving his Lincoln.

Jim is survived by 5 children, Julie Henderson, Colman, Kathleen Kinsey, Colman, David (Kim) Henderson, Flandreau, Susan Shirley, Colman, John (Angie) Henderson, Flandreau; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ida (Bill) Weaver, Rapid City, Georgina Koopman, Minneapolis, MN and Alta Dexter, Minneapolis, MN. Jim is preceded in death by by his daughter, Amy Diaz; parents; 2 brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Union Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 7 -9 PM Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
