James "Jim" Thomas Fogarty, 67, of Flandreau, SD, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Riverview Healthcare Community, where he had been a resident. James was born on June 19, 1953 to Raymond and Catherine (Pearman) Fogarty in Breckenridge, Minnesota. The family lived in Fairmount, North Dakota then moved to Sisseton, South Dakota. Jim graduated from Sisseton High School in 1971. He served in the Marines from 1971-1973. The family moved to Lidgerwood, North Dakota in 1972. Jim spent the last several years of his life living in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area and received care from the VA hospital there.

Jim is survived by his brothers, Michael (Becky) Fogarty, Alan (Stephanie) Fogarty, and Jonathon (Paula) Fogarty; and his sisters Theresa (Gordon) Murray, Mary (Vernal) Donnell, Anne (Adrian) Biewer, Michelle Fogarty, Joan (Jay) Fossum, Rita Nelson, and Carolyn (Dean) Haase; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Fogarty and Catherine Pearman Fogarty, and brothers, Daniel Fogarty and Timothy Fogarty and sister, Patricia Fogarty.

Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Lidgerwood, ND, with a burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Peter Anderl will be the celebrant. Livestream will be available on the Skroch Funeral Chapel Website ( www.skrochfc.com) . Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau and one hour prior to the services at the church.
