James Edward Cease, 68, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his home from an apparent heart attack. James was born on February 7, 1946 to Wilbur and Dorothy (Gerlach) Cease in Britton, SD. Upon entering adulthood, James joined the Army National Guard. He went to Auto Mechanic School in Canby, MN. It was then that he met his wife to be Victoria Scotting and they married on April 20, 1974. He worked at various auto shops until purchasing his own, Flandreau Community Oil. He worked at the Royal River Casino for 24 years, where he met and made many friends.

James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Victoria; children, Justin (Rachael), Jennifer (Chuckie), Jeremy (Sara); grandchildren, Presley, Patience, Peyton, Tessa, Allison, Jessica, Matthew, Anna, Jonathan; sisters, Linda, Nora, Gloria, Connie; brothers, Wayne, Roger, Keith, Gary, Mark, Don; and his many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dennis, mother and father-in-law.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Wicoicaga Otipi Community Center, Flandreau with burial at Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
