Isabell E. Corcoran, 97, of Flandreau, SD, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Brookings Health System, Brookings, SD. Isabell was born July 4, 1920 at Elkton, SD, to Edward and Hertha (Kramer) Hirzel. She received her education in country school and Verdi High School. Isabell married Raymond Corcoran May 30, 1938 at Elkton, SD. They farmed in Moody County until 1945 and then moved to a farm near Sinai, SD. In the spring of 1961 they returned to Moody County to farm northeast of Flandreau. Isabell bought the Flandreau Cafe in 1968 and managed the cafe until 2000. Her husband preceded her in death April 15, 1983. Isabell was a member South Dakota Retailers Association and former member of the Flandreau Improvement Corporation. She wintered in Texas and mostly Arizona for many years. Isabell enjoyed gardening, flowers, camping, traveling and was a wonderful cook.
