Hoang Anh "Carol" Lumibao passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. There will be no funeral services but a small celebration of life within the family.

Carol was born in Vietnam in December 28, 1946. She attended and graduated from Don Mariano High School, Class of 1982. Before graduating high school, Carol met her husband Prudencio A. Lumibao. Together they had five children, Prudencio N. Lumibao Jr., Paul N. Lumibao, Lily Palo (Oliver Palo), Penner N. Lumibao (Nica Lumibao) and Perry Lumibao (deceased) (Paulmarie Lumibao). Carol left Vietnam and raised their children in the Philippines. She later immigrated to the United States in 2006. Carol lived in Flandreau, South Dakota. She worked as a laundry aide at the Riverview Manor for a couple years before working at Edgewood as a medical aid. She then worked at Royal River Casino as a buffet attendant for 11 years, retiring at age of 73.

Carol loved spending her time in the kitchen, cooking variety of Vietnamese and Filipino meals for her family. She enjoyed sharing her culture, traditions and family history with her children and grandchildren. Carol enjoyed most of her quiet time sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, and working on puzzles. She enjoyed going to crab leg Friday at the casino as seafood was her favorite food.

Carol is survived by nine grandchildren; Yoyit, Yelly, Andreou, Andrea (Matthew), Ivan, Angel, Arch, Aikkie, and Kyla; sister, My- Ann Wynne (Michael Wynn); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, parents, and brothers and sisters.
