Helen May Ziebarth, 94, died Friday, May 28, 2010 at Riverview Manor. She was born February 17, 1916 to John V. and Mary (Vesley) Dusek on a farm north of Flandreau, SD. She attended Vance and Spafford elementary schools and Flandreau High School. Helen married William A. Ziebarth on July 18, 1933 in Flandreau and they lived on the farm for 40 years until moving into Flandreau in 1973. Helen did volunteer work at Riverview Manor for two years and then became a part-time housekeeper for the next eight years, retiring in 1984. Her husband preceded her in death on June 15, 2003. Helen was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, serving on several boards and was an ordained elder. She was very active in Circle groups and the Women's Association. She also belonged to the North-Get-Together Club and the Lathrop Community Club for more than 50 years. Helen enjoyed sewing, reading and playing cards.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Mary Fenelon, Lafayette, CA and Wilma Gehrts, Edina, MN; one daughter-in-law, Marie Ziebarth, Flandreau; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband, William; her son, Walter; two granddaughters, her parents, a sister, Jennie Lee and a brother, Victor Dusek.

Funeral services will be11:00 am Tuesday at Second Presbyterian Church with burial in Union Cemetery.
