Helen Phillips, 103, of Flandreau, SD, passed away peacefully at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids, SD. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, December 29, 2023 at St. George Catholic Parish in Hartford, SD.

Helen Kessler Phillips was born September 21, 1920 to Frank and Cora (DuCharme) in Trail City, SD. She was enrolled as a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. She was married to Basil Phillips on February 22nd 1949, to this union the couple was blessed with two children.

Helen was loved by everyone that met her. She was considered another mom/grandma to many! Helen loved her family fiercely and had many joys in life that included BINGO and indulging in a sweet snack!

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Arlene Mossefin, Flandreau, SD; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Phillips, Hartford, SD; grandchildren, Chris Buckley, Cory Phillips, Kelly Bachtell, Matt Mossefin, Missy Mossefin, Mandy Marshall, and Lacy Marshall; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Basil Phillips and son Mark Phillips.
