Harold J. Boever, 89, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Riverview Health Services. Harold was born June 15, 1925 in Dell Rapids, SD to Michael and Barbara (Entringer) Boever. He attended Gale Ridge Country School and went to Egan High School. In 1947 Harold started farming southwest of Flandreau. He married Donna Olson on February 8, 1950 in Flandreau and they continued to farm. Donna preceded Harold in death on May 10, 2005. Harold was on kidney dialysis for the past ten years and the last two years he lived at Sunrise Village in Jasper, MN. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle and was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church.

Harold is survived by seven children: Michael (Karen), Bennington, NE, Cheryl Duinkerken, Sioux Falls, Lynn (Don) Hirsch, Cottage Grove, MN, Terry Boever, Flandreau, Rick (Pam), Flandreau, Connie Boever, Brookings, Ron Boever, Carlsbad, CA, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law Marlys Olson, Egan and Nadine Boever, Sumner, WA. He was preceded by his wife, parents, one grandson Dustin Fox, one great-granddaughter Ella Jo Boever, and three brothers, Edmund, Vernon, and Ken.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, September 12, 2014 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 5:00 pm Thursday with a 7:00 pm scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
