Harlan M. Snuggerud, 93, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Bridgeview Center in Ormond Beach, FL. Harlan was born on July 6, 1915 in Holmen, WI to Bernt and Sarah (Hanson) Snuggerud. He attended country schools in Moody County through the eighth grade. Harlan learned farming at an early age and farmed in Flandreau until the age of 80. He married Liala Jensen on November 19, 1939 in Colman, SD. Besides farming, he owned and operated an implement business in Flandreau and was Treasurer of Moody County for 12 years. Liala preceded him in death on May 28, 1995. Following her death he moved to Norton, KS to be near his oldest daughter and family and then in 2004 he moved to Florida and lived near his other three daughters. Harlan especially enjoyed helping a neighbor, fixing something that needed repair and in his later days loved a cup of coffee and reminiscing about life on the farm. He was a former member of Clare Lutheran Church and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau.

Harlan is survived by 4 daughters, JoAnn (Bernie) Bowen, Norton, KS, Judean (Bob) Frank, Elkton, FL, Linda Allen, Jacksonville, FL, Patricia (Jack) Dewees, Ormond Beach, FL; 12 grandchildren, Janette, Cheryl, Connie, Gail, Jackie, Sharla, Gerald, Christopher, Roxanne, Michelle, Nathan, Justice; 6 step-grandchildren, Danette, Maryn, Jana, Rob, Becky, Ramsey; 19 great-grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Heather, Brett, Bo, Luke, Connor, Baron, Emma, Cordrey, Derek, Maggie, Carlie, Ryan, Eden, Brooke, Lacy, Sydney, Samantha; 13 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons and one sister, Lillian Tjarks, Flandreau, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one brother, Luverne and three sisters, Agnes, Sylvia and Marie.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with burial in Clare Cemetery rural Flandreau. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
