Gladys Leeds, 84, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids. Gladys was born on June 9, 1924 at White, SD to Fred and Minnie (Jurgens) Jesson. She was educated at White and married Rollin Leeds on October 14, 1947 at Luverne, MN. They moved to Sioux Falls and she worked at Kreskies. They moved to Colman in November of 1955 where Gladys worked in the school lunch program and for over 40 years did janitorial work at T & R Electric. Rollin died on April 26, 1982. Gladys was a member of Colman Methodist Church, Colman Senior Citizens and American Legion Auxiliary.

Gladys is survived by her children, Roger (Barb), Sioux Falls, Gloria (Larry) Hrbek, Lincoln, NE, Larry, Hayti, SD, Charles, Colman; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, Lester Oppelt, Elkton, Al Yates, Camby, MN; niece, Cheryl Brown, FL and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, June and Vi and nephew, Bob Oppelt.


Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Colman Methodist Church with burial in the Colman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman.
