Obituary
Gerald F. Staab, 83, of Egan, SD, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Avera Flandreau Hospital, Flandreau, SD. Gerald was born November 3, 1934 at Pipestone, MN, to Paul and Margaret (Schrier) Staab. He went to country school through the eighth grade and worked on the farm with his dad. Gerald met Rita DeGriselles and they were married July 6, 1957 in Pipestone, MN. They lived in Marshall, MN, where he worked in maintenance at the Marshall Hospital. They lived in Marshall until 2006 when they moved to Egan, SD. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, yard work and gardening.
Gerald is survived by his wife Rita, Egan; two brothers, Ron Staab, Indianapolis, IN; Al Staab, Sioux Falls, SD; sister Verna Slinger, Truman,MN; brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman, with burial at Hillside Cemetery, Egan. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.
