Georgene P. Compton, 49, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at her home in Flandreau. Georgene was born August 29, 1960 in Joliet, IL to George and Phyllis (Taylor) Pitsenberger. She received her education in Joliet and Omaha, NE. She was married August 20, 1979 in Joliet, IL to Ronald Duggins. Ron was in the Air Force and they lived in Maine, New Hampshire, San Antonio, TX and Omaha. While in Omaha, Georgene worked at Creighton University in medical billing. She was married to Robert Compton on October 4, 1991 in Bellevue, NE. Georgene moved to Flandreau in 1995 and worked at Royal River Casino and Hotel at the hotel front desk. She enjoyed reading, beanie babies, collecting salt and pepper shakers, bowling, but mostly loved her family especially her new granddaughter, Allison.

Georgene is survived by 3 children, Adam Duggins, Omaha, Tammy (Brad Harbin) Duggins, Omaha, Cody Compton, Council Bluffs; 1 granddaughter, Allison; 3 brothers: Harold (Ruth) Pitsenberger, Joliet, Rodney Pitsenberger, Joliet, Jimmy (Sue) Pitsenberger, Flandreau, 3 sisters, Karen Bowman, Sheila Nicol, and Tammy Pitsenberger all of Flandreau. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janet.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Monday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
