Gail Renee Doyle

Gail Renee Doyle, 74, of Hendricks, MN, formerly of Flandreau, SD, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.

Gail Renee Doyle was born on June 25, 1952, in Flandreau, South Dakota, to Glenn and Dorothy (Christensen) Doyle. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1970 and later studied nursing at Lake Area Technical College in Watertown, South Dakota.

Following high school, Gail married Jeffory Howard Rice. Together, they had three children: Melanie, Joseph, and Beth.

Gail was a hardworking and generous woman who had a gift for caring for others. Throughout her life, Gail worked in numerous jobs centered around helping others, most notably in nursing. She always put others before herself and often went out of her way to help elderly neighbors with errands and appointments. Gail loved her family and will be remembered for her distinctive laugh.

In her free time, Gail enjoyed traveling, reading, golfing, and caring for plants and flowers.

She will be deeply missed by the many people she served and whose lives she touched throughout her life.

Grateful for having shared her life is her “friend”, Daryl Root; her children, Melanie Rosa, Joseph (Stacy) Rice, and Beth Rice; her siblings, Bonnie Fenicle, Judy (Drew) Brekke, Paul (Machelle) Doyle, and Kathy (Tom) Fecteau; her grandchildren, Kane Rosa, Brock Christie, Justice, Lisa and Mary Van Dyke, Elana and Jeffory Rice; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Dorothy Doyle.
