Frank Patrick Seivert, 79, of Elkton, SD, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Elkton, SD. The family will be present for visitation one our prior to the funeral service.

Francis Patrick Seivert, born July 8, 1945, in Tyler, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. He was the son of Francis A. "Dick" Seivert and Mary Ann (Culhane) Seivert.

Francis attended St. Mary's School in Elkton, SD (1952–1958) and graduated from Elkton High School in 1963. He went on to study accounting at Nettleton Commercial College (1964–1965) and earned a BA in Business Administration from Dakota State University (1969–1972). He later trained as an EMT (1974, 1979) and completed the paramedic program at the University of Iowa Hospital in 1982.

His career included part-time work at the Elkton Record (1958–1961), clerical roles at Northern States Power Company (1963–1965, 1968–1969), and work in the DSU business office (1969–1972). He served as Senior Auditor at Windchill/Kellen Turbes in Worthington, MN (1972–1978), and as Business Office Manager and Chief Financial Officer at Hutchinson Community Hospital (1978–1991). He also worked in EMS part-time from 1979 to 2007.

Francis served in the U.S. Army with the 14th Armored Cavalry during 1967 and was a member of the Army Reserve (1967–1973) and National Guard (1974–1975). He later worked for Lifelink III (1992–1997), serving as Vice President and CFO, supporting air and ground critical care transport across the U.S.

Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Francis's life was defined by service to others. Beginning in 1994, he embarked on humanitarian missions across the globe—offering care and compassion in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Vietnam, Latvia, Nigeria, and many other regions. Partnering with organizations like Doctors Without Borders, he led medical, dental, construction, and water purification teams into underserved and remote communities. He often hiked through jungles, climbed mountains, and braved rough terrain to bring hope, healing, and vital resources to those in need. Francis's volunteer work took him to nearly 30 countries and over 100 airports, but he always said the true journey was in the lives he touched—and those who touched his in return. He believed deeply in giving back, and his legacy is one of humility, kindness, and tireless service. He often said, "I have been very blessed to have touched so many lives. But more importantly, for those that have touched mine." Francis will be remembered for his deep compassion, tireless dedication, and unshakable belief in the goodness of people. A life lived in service to others is a life well-lived—and Francis Patrick Seivert lived his life extraordinarily well.

Frank is survived by his brother, Richard Seivert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary Ann Seivert, sister, Mary Ellen Kellen, and brother, Michael Seivert.

A life of service, compassion, and purpose—Francis will be dearly missed.
