Frances A. Kittelson, 94, of Flandreau, passed away, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Avera Flandreau Hospital. Frances was born August 30, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Frances (Bock) Geyer. She graduated from St. Benedict Elementary and High School and attended Metropolitan Business College. Frances married Dale A. Kittelson on June 27, 1942 in Chicago and they were married 65 years. They moved to Trent, SD in March 1948 and farmed until 1986. Frances worked at Sioux Valley Energy from 1963-1993. Then she worked at Royal River Casino and also delivered Meals on Wheels. Her husband preceded her in death on July 14, 2007. Frances retired in March 2009 and moved to Bellevue, NE. She returned to Flandreau and became a resident at Riverview Manor in January 2013. Frances was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Altar Society, and was a life time member of the Trent American Legion and Flandreau VFW Auxiliary.

Frances is survived by her children, Dale A. Jr. (Barbara), Papillion, NE and Debra Ommen, Ceylon, MN, four grandchildren, Douglas, Jennifer, Joy, Jason, nine great-grandchildren, Paige, Adora, Daniel, Samantha, Braden, Brandon, Cassandra, Brice and Bryton and three great-great-grandchildren, Sophia, Thomas and Scarlett. She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law Steven Ommen, parents, one brother Joseph, and one sister Marie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Monday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7 p.m. scripture service.
