Evelyn R. Mueller, 93, of Elkton, South Dakota, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Edgewood Vista in Brookings, SD. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 25, 2023 at United Parish of Elkton. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 10:00 AM at United Parish of Elkton in Elkton, SD.

Evelyn was born on March 22, 1930 to Albert and Katie (Rust) Brandt. She received her education at a country school right across the road from their farm and attended through the eighth grade; she then went to Elkton High School for two years.

Evelyn married Walter Mueller on February 14, 1949 in Pipestone, Minnesota. They had one son, David. Together they farmed north of Elkton until retiring in 1999. After the sale of the farm, they moved into town and bought a home in Elkton in August of 1999.

Evelyn was a member of the United Parish of Elkton.

She is survived by her son, David Mueller and his wife, Marlene of Elkton, SD, and brother, Paul Brandt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Mueller, parents, Albert and Katie Brandt, sister Kathryn and husband, Bruce, and sister-in-law, LaVonne.
