Evelyn V. Galvan, age 87, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her home in Flandreau. Evelyn was born April 5, 1925 at Pine Ridge, SD to James and Bessie (Weston) Grass. She was educated in Pine Ridge and married Charles Galvan in Omaha, NE in 1965. They moved to Flandreau in 2001. Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo.

Evelyn is survived by 8 children: Adel Davis, Flandreau, Leonard (Sandy) Long, Rapid City, SD, Victoria Peres, Flandreau, Patricia Larvie, Phoenix, AZ, Cecil (Peg) Long, Flandreau, Michael Long, Flandreau, Charles Galvan, Jr., Porcupine, SD, Kevin Galvan, Denver; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Sidney Byrd, Flandreau. She was preceded in death by her son Arthur, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be 11:00 am Monday, October 15, 2012 at Eastman Hall in Flandreau. Burial will be at First Presbyterian Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation begins 5:00 pm Saturday at Eastman Hall. There will be a wake service on Saturday evening and Sunday evening.
