Flandreau – Eudora M. Zellers, 87, of Belle Plaine, MN formerly of Flandreau, SD died Tuesday at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Eudora Marie Zellers was born May 15, 1921 in Flandreau to Albert M. and Lillian M. (Nebben) Johnson. She grew up in Flandreau and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1939. Following graduation she attended Augustana College. She moved to Norfolk, VA where she married Everett C. Zellers on October 31, 1942. Eudora continued her education and received her Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota and in 1978 received her PhD from California Western University. She was the first woman Senior Administrator in the Minneapolis School System. In 1978 she was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award from Augustana College. Eudora was on the American Red Cross Disaster Team where she served during Hurricanes Hugo in Puerto Rico and Andrew in Florida and the flooding in South Dakota. She was sent to Guatemala City by the International Executive Service Corporation as a vocational education consultant to set up their education system. Eudora was an accomplished pianist and played through her 86th birthday. She loved to knit, sew, type on manuel typewriters and archery. Eudora was a member of the Athena Literary Club, Flandreau City Council for 8 years, Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Flandreau and WELCA.

Eudora is survived by her husband, Everett of Belle Plaine, MN; 3 daughters, Diane (James) Zellers-Rainey of Oakdale, MN, Joanne Beaudette of Huron, SD, Barb (Mark) Bender of Isanti, MN; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Duane.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with burial at the Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be from 4-9PM Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with the family present from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eudora's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Crystal Theater in Flandreau or the Moody County Museum.
