Erna was born March 12, 1934 in Sioux Falls, SD, to Henry and Eva (Hiatt) Glammeier. She attended school in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1952. She played violin in the orchestra for four years. Erna worked for Ma Bell for one year until she met the love of her life on a blind date. She married Albert Glenn Gullickson on August 22, 1953. They made their home just outside of Flandreau in Clare Township and raised three children, Linda, Lydia, and Dwight. Erna taught herself how to be a housewife and worked side by side with Albert. All this was passed on to their children. Erna was a member of Clare Lutheran Church and then Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was active in church and their children's activities. She had a beautiful voice and played the piano, bringing music into their home. Albert passed away in 2005 and Erna moved to Edgewood Vista in December 2014, when she was no longer able to stay on the farm by herself. Most recently she was a resident at Palisade Healthcare Community in Garretson under hospice care.

Erna is survived by her three children, Linda (Anthony) Lynch, Beloit, WI; Lydia Gullickson, Sioux Falls, SD; Dwight Gullickson, Elkton, SD; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, William, David, Elizabeth John, Christian, Nicholas; five great-grandchildren, Kara, Kaylee Emory, Joseph and Matthew. Erna was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Daniel, one sister Marlys, and three brothers, Joseph, Raymond, and Donald.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau, with burial in Clare Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
