Eloise Nadine Drapeau (Allen), age 79, of Flandreau, South Dakota, journeyed to the Spirit World on Friday, August 28, 2026, at her home in Flandreau.

Funeral services for Eloise Nadine Drapeau will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Eastman Hall in Flandreau, SD.

All-night wakes will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 starting at 7:00 P.M., and Wednesday, September 2, 2026 starting at 7:00 P.M. at Eastman Hall in Flandreau, SD.

Eloise was born on October 14, 1946, in Pipestone, MN, the daughter of George & Marie Allen. 

Eloise graduated from Flandreau High School in 1966 and, after graduation, worked at Sioux Valley Hospital for about one year with her sister, Marie. Her mother then sent her and her sister off to college at Cook Christian Training School in Tempe, AZ, for a year, and then she went to Bacone Jr. College in Muskogee, OK, in 1967. 

While at Bacone, she fell in love with her future husband, Vine Drapeau Sr., and they married August 17, 1968, and shortly after moved back to Flandreau.

Eloise lived the vast majority of her life in Flandreau and worked various occupations throughout her life. While living in Flandreau, she worked at Eaton Dakota, Flandreau Indian School Kitchen for years, as a CHR for Tribal Health, and as a member of the Gaming Commission Board for FSST, and served as Secretary on Tribal Council for four years. Eloise retired shortly after the birth of her second grandchild in 2005.

Eloise is survived by sons: Vine "KK" Drapeau Jr. and Lisa Drapeau of Chandler, AZ, and Brian Drapeau of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren: Brianna Garcia of Amarillo, TX, Devin Drapeau, Nadine Drapeau, and one great-grandchild, Willow Drapeau, all of Flandreau, SD; one sister: Marie (Dave) Penney of Lewiston, ID, and 32 of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, George & Marie Allen; brother, George Allen Jr.; husband, Vine Drapeau Sr.; and daughter, Marie Drapeau.
