Elkton – Elaine Peters, 92, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Brookview Manor, Brookings. Elaine was born December 20, 1916 in Elkton to Lloyd and Mary (O'Leary) Lovley. She was educated in Elkton and then attended college in Mitchell, SD. She returned to Elkton and worked at Corn Exchange Bank and then ran Lovley Grocery Store. She married Nick Peters on April 22, 1946 in Elkton and then worked as a bank auditor for a bank in Sioux Falls until retiring in 1978. Nick and Elaine wintered in Arizona and enjoyed visiting nieces and a nephew. Nick preceded her in death on May 28, 1999.

Elaine is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Edward and two sisters, Helen Weismann and Shirley Kelly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Elkton, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm Tuesday, preceding the service at the church.
