Edwin L. Kilber, 92, Egan, SD, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Riverview Healthcare Community, Flandreau, SD. He was born September 5, 1924, at Carter, SD, to Reinhold and Anna Kilber. He received his education in country schools in the Norris area. Ed entered the U.S. Army on January 14, 1944 and served in Europe during WWII. He was honorably discharged on November 16, 1945. Ed was married to Wanda Vivant and three children were born to this union. Ed drove truck all his life, owning Kilber Trucking through the 1990's. On May 17, 1961, Ed was married to Linda Blanchard in Slayton, MN, and three children were born to this union. They moved to Egan, SD, in 1963. He drove school bus for Egan and Flandreau for many years.

Ed is survived by his wife Linda; four sons, Allen (Malissa) and Darby (Shelly), Illinois; Robert (Elaine), Colman, SD; Corey (Brooke), Brookings, SD; two daughters, Sandra Mesa, Hill City, SD; Pamela Kahler, Volga, SD; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2016 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
