Edna Mae Schipper, 94, of Flandreau, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Flandreau. Edna was born April 17, 1922 at Reading, MN to John and Laura (Meyer) Christians. She received her education at Reading and Worthington, MN and graduated from American High School. Edna married Ukeus Schipper on September 14, 1941, rural Herman, MN. They moved to a farm SE of Flandreau and she worked at home until her children were grown. They moved into Flandreau in 1962 and she later worked as a nurse's aide at the Flandreau Hospital for 27 years, retiring on January 1, 2000. Case preceded her in death on February 23, 1993.

Edna is survived by 3 children, Clayton (LeAnn) Schipper, Flandreau; Lloyd (Jeannette) Schipper, Sioux Falls; Lorinda (Dennis) Bell, Tea; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, 2 daughters-in-law, Pam Schipper, Rosie Schipper and a sister-in-law, Anna Christians. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sons, Loren Dale, Cameron, Steven Bruce, grandson Troy and her parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with burial in Lone Rock Lutheran Cemetery, rural Flandreau. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
