Edith Lorraine Christiansen, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at United Living Community in Brookings, SD. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Flandreau, SD. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the service.

Edith Lorraine Christiansen, born August 7, 1932, was born in Flandreau, South Dakota, to Reiner and Lucille Pulscher. She grew up on a farm west of Flandreau with her three siblings: older brothers Duane and Dean, and younger sister Betty Ruth.

Edith attended Tidd Country School and graduated from Egan High School in 1950. On December 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert Christiansen at Riverview Methodist Church in rural Flandreau. Together, Edith and Bob farmed for many years, and Edith devoted her life to being a homemaker and raising their five children.

Edith and Robert enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing together throughout their lives. Edith's hobbies included flower gardening, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was active in WELCA, quilting, Extension Club, and 4-H, serving as a 4-H leader for many years.

Edith loved visitors and especially cherished time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved as "Grandma Edith" and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Edith is survived by four children: Gary (Jane) Christiansen of Winona, Minnesota; Debra (Marlin) Schrecengost of Flandreau, South Dakota; David Christiansen of Flandreau; and Barbara (Russell) Kneebone of Flandreau; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Jesse) Doyle, Peggy (Ryan) Schuetz, Chad (Lori) Kneebone, Michele Christiansen (Wayne Gasperini), Candice (Heath) VonEye, Scott (Amanda) Christiansen, Jeremy (Carrie) Schrecengost, Adam (Katie) Christiansen, Casey (Erica) Kneebone, and Jace (Linzee) Christiansen; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Ruth Mennis of Brookings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, Bruce; and her brothers, Duane (Fern) Pulscher and Dean (Dorothy) Pulscher.
