Douglas D. Bunker, 61, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls. Doug was born August 6, 1947 in Volga, SD to Frank and Doris (Mohror) Bunker. He received his education in Arlington and Flandreau. Doug married Lois Downs and he drove truck and worked road construction. In 1972, Doug married Georgette Rice in Hill City, SD and he continued to drive truck. He returned to Flandreau in 1990. He went to work for 60+ Dining Service in 2006.

He is survived by a daughter, Julie Berry, Afton, MN;2 stepchildren, Robert Ready, Delta, CO, Tonia Barber, Grand Junction, CO; 2 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Dick (Sharon) Bunker, Pequot Lakes, MN, Rosie (Steve) Schipper, Flandreau, Keith (Patty), Burtrum, MN and Brian Bunker, Flandreau; and his father, Frank (Mary) Bunker, Flandreau. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris and a nephew, Donavan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 4:00 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 6:00 pm prayer service.
