Dorothy M. Mousel, 101, of Flandreau, SD, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center, Dell Rapids, SD. Dorothy was born March 13, 1917 on a farm southwest of Colman, SD, to Ralph and Helena (Schreier) Loiseau. She attended DeVaney Country School. Dorothy married Lawrence Mousel April 25, 1939 at Dell Rapids. They farmed in the Dell Rapids area until 1953 when they moved to a farm five miles west of Flandreau, SD. Dorothy farmed alongside of her husband until his death on November 22, 1981. Dorothy remained active into her late 90's and continued to live on the farm until March of 2018 when she became a resident at the nursing home in Dell Rapids. Dorothy was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and MWC Ladies Club. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making donuts, gardening, canning and always enjoyed having a dog.

Dorothy is survived by five children, JoAnn (Andy) Groos, Colman, SD; John (Rose Ann) Mousel, Egan, SD; Marjorie Clemmens, Portland, OR; Helen (Mark) LeBrun, Egan, SD; Carol Jean (Ron) Klein, Gann Valley, SD; 25 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Loiseau, Flandreau and Frances Mae Grimsley, Brookings, SD, and one brother-in-law Cecil Mousel, Pipestone, MN. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter Susanne LeBrun and one son-in-law David Clemmens.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dell Rapids. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday with a 4:00 p.m. rosary and a 5:00 p.m. scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
