Doris H. Leraas, 88, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Flandreau. Doris was born February 5, 1927 at Flandreau, SD to Henry and Wilhelmine (Drewes) Luedemann. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1944 and moved to California where she worked until 1946 when she returned to South Dakota. Doris married Glen Leraas on February 5, 1946 in Colman, SD. They lived north of Colman, SD and Doris worked at the Madison Daily Leader and was secretary at East River Electric Cooperative, Madison for many years, retiring in 1986. They moved into Flandreau in 2003. Her husband preceded her on October 26, 2008. Doris attended Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau, Presbyterian Women, church choir, a former member of Midway Lutheran Church, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Doris is survived by two sons, Ron (Sue), Big Sandy, TX, Gordon (Jane), Colman, five grandchildren, Mike (Angie), Mark (Sarah), Chad (Tamara), David (Melissa) and Nathan (Jaime), eight great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Doris was preceded by her husband, parents, three brothers, Ernest, Henry and Rudolph and two sisters, Martha and Alma.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Midway Lutheran Cemetery, Colman. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
