Donna M. Groeneweg, 81, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Flandreau Medical Center. Donna was born February 14, 1929 at Corsica, SD to Enno and Verna (Williams) Krull. She graduated from Corsica High School and married Merlin Groeneweg in Corsica on June 11, 1948. They farmed in the Corsica area until 1963 when they moved to Denver. Her husband preceded her in death on April 8, 1981. Donna moved to Sioux Falls and later to Flandreau. She loved her teddy bears, country music, going to garage sales and out to lunch with Dorothy Krull.

Donna is survived by three children, Mardell (Robert) Burckhard, Sioux Falls, Randy (Nora) Groeneweg, Lakewood, CO, Lynnae (Eddy) Gains, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Juanita, Gale, Nathan (Rose), Phillip, Justin; three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Derrick, ToriLynn; one great-great-grandson, Jasper; 2 step-grandchildren, Tricia and Darren; 5 step-greatgrandchildren, Cory, Jerry, Shelby, Amanda and Kayla; four sisters, Shirley (Chuck) Francis, Sioux Falls, Doris (Al) Reynen, Hollendale, MN, Patty (Ken) Stephen, Tolstoy, SD, Carol (Ron) Hieb, Sioux Falls and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Krull, Flandreau. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, Emma and two brothers, Harold and Paul Krull.


Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Harrison Cemetery, Harrison, SD. Visitation begins at 9:00 am Thursday at the funeral chapel.
