Donna Jean DeVries, 79, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Avera Flandreau Hospital, Flandreau. Donna was born August 2, 1937 at Brookings, SD to Ben and June (Shepherd) Moe. They lived in Bushnell, SD where she received her education. Donna married Claus G. DeVries on November 25, 1953 in Brookings County. They farmed and lived in Aurora, SD until 1995. Claus and Donna retired on an acreage south of Aurora. Donna had health problems and became a resident at Riverview Manor in Flandreau. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996. Donna loved gardening, making jams, cooking, watching her soaps and especially spending time with her son Mike, daughter Joy and her grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her son Michael (Kathy) DeVries, Sturgis, SD; her daughter Joy (Ray) Davis, Brookings; two sisters, Joan Krein, Bismarck, ND; Helen Krein, Brookings; three brothers, Ron (Mary) Moe, Volga, SD; Larry Moe, Howard, SD; Glen Moe, Madison, SD; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at First English Lutheran Church in Aurora, SD, with burial in Fairlawn Cemetery, Aurora. Lunch will be at the Aurora Community Center following the service.
