Donald H. Myers, 77, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his home in Egan. Don was born October 14, 1933 in Flandreau to Elzer and Mary Adelia (Thielsen) Myers. He received his education in country schools in Moody County and graduated in 1952 from Washington High School in Sioux Falls. Don went to Radio and Electronic School in Kansas City and then served in the Coast Guard from 1953-1957. Don was married to Katherine Carlson on February 11, 1961 in Pipestone, MN. After his discharge, Don worked on his uncle's farm before working at John Morrell for 28 years. He worked for Wade Construction and then at Eastern Dakota Specialties retiring in 2009. Don owned Don's Welding and Repair as well as servicing small engines and tool sharpening. Don was a member of Colman Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing any projects and helping others.

Don is survived by 4 children, Cary Myers, Sioux Falls, Lori (Mike) Port, Los Alamos, NM, Brian Myers (Kathy Sturm), Sioux Falls, Amy (Chris) McCree, Colman; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Barb) Myers, Worthing and Vernon (Kay) Myers, Sioux Falls. Don was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Everett, 1 sister, Verona, 1 infant brother and 1 infant sister.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Colman Lutheran Church, Colman. Visitation begins at 5:00 pm Friday with the family present from 5-7 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman.
