Don C. Ingemann, 82, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1932 southeast of Flandreau, SD on a farm in Moody County to Clifford and Lillian (Benson) Ingemann. He attended grade school at Blinsmon County School #9 and graduated from Trent High School. Don attended South Dakota State College in Brookings for a degree in agriculture education. He entered the U.S. Army and served from 1954-1956 as a 2nd Lt. and was stationed one year in Munich, Germany. After his discharge in 1956, he received his master's degree at SDSC. Don taught at several South Dakota schools and was principal and also taught in Minnesota. After teaching, Don returned to farm with his father until he retired in 1995. He moved to Kansas City and for the last six years he lived with his sister Evelyn. Don enjoyed sports and was a season ticket holder for the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and the KC Royals. He also was an avid fan of the KC Chiefs. Don participated in a VA program called National Veterans Golden Age Games.
Don is survived by two sisters, Lois Braun, Aberdeen, SD, Evelyn Ingemann, Sioux Falls, SD, and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded by his parents, an infant sister and one brother-in-law Dean Braun.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 13, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Flandreau, with burial in Oslo Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Sunday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7:00 pm prayer service.
