Donald Brian Cameron, 66, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at his home in Elkton, SD. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025 at United Parish of Elkton. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the service.

Don was born on October 28, 1958 to Jim and Roween (Heesch) Cameron in St. Paul, MN. The family then moved to a farm outside of New Market, MN. Then, when Don was in the sixth grade the family moved to a farm outside of Elkton, SD. He continued his education there through junior high and Elkton High School graduating in 1977.

Growing up he excelled in football earning all-state honors in high school. Don enjoyed fishing and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He also enjoyed family functions; particularly, spending time with his nieces and nephews who referred to him as "Funcle".  He was also close with his siblings.

Don started out trucking with his father, Jim, before going out on his own. He spent many years over the road trucking until problems with his vision prevented him from continuing. He then became a meat cutter at the Elkton Locker.

He would then retire due to a cancer diagnosis and several other health complications. He fought the good fight with his health from 2017 until his passing.

Grateful for having shared his life are his siblings: Denise Taylor, Lake Benton, Craig (Selma) Cameron, Elkton, SD, and Val (Mike) Knutson, Brookings, SD; brother-in-law, Marshall Janssen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Roween Cameron; sister, Carol Janssen; and nephew, Ross Cameron.
