Don Krogman, 74, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 at his home in Elkton, SD.

Henry Donald Krogman was born May 5, 1934 on a Brookings County farm to Henry and Elizabeth (Clark) Krogman. Don attended 8 years at Trail School District #100 and graduated from Brookings High School in 1952. He served in the United States Army from January 25, 1955 to January 11, 1958. He spent much of that time in Germany. He began farming when he left the army. Don married Norma Jean Smith on December 25, 1960 in White, SD. They moved to a farm near Elkton in 1964 and moved into Elkton in September of 2001. Four sons were born to them. Don worked at the Coast-to-Coast Warehouse from 1977-1997 before retiring because of health. Don was a member of United Parish of Elkton and the Higgin Jensen American Legion Post #88, White.

Don is survived by his wife, Norma; three sons, Curtis (Gayle), Elkton, Kevin (Robin), Las Vegas, NV, David (Shay), Elkton; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Eric, Rachel, Megan, Trent, Spencer and Brittany; four step-grandchildren; three sisters, Eleanor Andersen, Elizabeth Pike, Karen (Andy) Gaukel, all of Brookings, one brother, Robert (Sharon) Krogman, Brookings, a sister-in-law, Mavis Krogman, Brookings, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony, his parents and a brother, Edward.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the Community Center in Elkton with burial in the Elkton City Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 – 8 pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
