Dianna K. Peter, 73, of Flandreau, SD passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home in the Flandreau Park under hospice care. Dianna was born on October 20, 1947 at Scottsville, KY to Chester and Eudean (Vinson) Kirby. She was raised by her grandmother Cora Kirby and they lived in Charleston, SC. Dianna married Charles Amaker and they lived in Charleston. Dianna later married David Perry in Summersville, SC and they moved to Pasadena, TX where she drove a school bus. They later moved to DeSmet, SD and then Flandreau in 1989. Dianna married Jerome Peter on August 22, 1991 in Sioux Falls. They lived in Flandreau and she attended Minnesota West in Pipestone, MN and earned a LPN nursing degree. She worked as a nurse and a rehab therapist at Riverview Manor in Flandreau until retiring in 2015. Dianna was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church and altar society. She enjoyed fishing, where she would take residents with her, camping, gardening, picking asparagus, and boating.

Dianna is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Jerry Herndon) Taylor, Sioux Falls; Kimberly (David) Henderson, Flandreau; five grandchildren, Christopher Peyregne, Jessica Peyregne, Brianna Herndon, Stephanie Henderson, Jessica Gehring; six great-grandchildren, Alaina, Rylee, James, Edward, Grayson, Raelynn; two great-great-grandchildren, Jet and Odin; a brother Harold Gardner Jr., Edisto Beach, SC and a sister Jean Pennington, Moncks Corner, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome Peter (January 2, 2013), parents and two sisters, Belinda Jo Goode and Judy Fisher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Monday, February 1, 2021 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery, Estelline, SD. Livestream will be available on Dianna's obituary page at www.skrochfc.com . Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday with a 4:00 pm scripture service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. Masks will be required at the funeral chapel.
